WVSA Plans To Host Information Session

PLAINS TWP. — The Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority will host an event to share more information about the Regional Stormwater Management Program the organization is overseeing. WVSA will host “Sharing Solutions to Stormwater Management” from 11 to 7 May 13 at the Holiday Inn Wilkes-Barre - East Mountain, 600 Wildflower Drive, Plains Twp. The event is free and open to the public. At their leisure, attendees can learn about: • Municipal projects designed to reduce the amount of stormwater pollutants entering local waterways. • Best Management Practices (BMPs) for reducing stormwater runoff and earning fee credits. • Completed stormwater management projects. • Meet WVSA’s Stormwater Management Team. • Ask questions about their stormwater fee. • Enter the WVSA Rain Barrel Giveaway drawing. WVSA’s stormwater technicians and customer service representatives will also be available to answer questions about customers’ bills and properties, including impervious area assessments. Impervious area is used to determine property tier structures that allocate stormwater fee payments. The authority is overseeing a combined response from 32 municipalities to meet Environmental Protection Agency standards for municipal separate storm sewer system permits. — BILL WELLOCK
