Mother Nature moves Special Olympics games
DIXON – Thanks to the weather, Friday’s Special Olympics Motor Activity Training Program games are moving indoors.
Rather than at Kreider Services, the games will be held at the Dixon Elks Lodge, 1279 Franklin Grove Road, from 10 a.m. to noon Friday.
Kreider’s annual wheelchair football game, archery events and an off-road wheelchair demonstration will take place at a later date.
Ninety Kreider Services clients will be participating in the Motor Activity games, which train athletes with severe or profound intellectual disabilities, who are unable to participate in official Special Olympics competitions, for sports appropriate for their abilities. No athletes are excluded.
Volunteers are needed; call Lisa Olson or Becky Reilly at 815-288-6691 for more information.
