COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) _ Martin Joergensen will get the honor of wearing Denmark's jersey No. 10 during the World Cup, the Danish soccer federation said Wednesday.

At world cups, the No. 10 jersey is usually worn by the creative midfielder or the team's biggest star. Previous No. 10s at World Cups include legends Pele of Brazil, Argentina's Diego Maradona and still-active Zinedine Zidane of France.

Michael Laudrup, Denmark's best player ever, wore the No. 10 jersey for the national team in the 1998 World Cup in France.

Joergensen, 26, plays for Italy's Udinese and is considered one of Denmark's biggest talents although a string of injuries have slowed down his career. He has played 31 times for Denmark.
