Mark Babineck Named Correspondent in Lubbock, Texas
LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) _ Mark Babineck, an Associated Press newsman in Dallas, has been named correspondent in Lubbock.
The appointment was announced today by Dallas Chief of Bureau John Lumpkin.
Babineck, 25, joined the AP last year in Dallas. He previously was sports editor at the Texas City Sun and the New Braunfels (Texas) Herald-Zeitung.
Babineck is a native of Houston and a graduate of the University of Texas.
He succeeds Jean Pagel, who has been named correspondent in charge of AP’s Tulsa, Okla., bureau.
