Winona man, 40, accused of groping 15-year-old co-worker faces sexual misconduct charge
A 40-year-old Winona man accused of groping a 15-year-old girl in June has been ordered to appear in court next month.
Tony Lee Bendickson faces charges of fifth-degree sexual misconduct, a gross misdemeanor, when he appears in court on Oct. 17.
According to the complaint, the girl told law enforcement that, on June 21 while working with Bendickson, he “flipped” her breasts and slapped her butt through her clothing multiple times in a three-hour period.
The incident came to light after a man entered Bendickson’s place of business on June 23 wielding a baseball bat.
According to a witness, the man, who appeared to be drunk, asked for Bendickson and made clear his intention to hurt him.
The man later told law enforcement that he was looking for Bendickson because he believed he had molested the girl, the criminal complaint said.
Bendickson denied having touched the girl while speaking with investigators on June 29. He claimed the two were working separately all day and that his only contact with her was to tell her what to do.
If convicted, Bendickson faces a maximum sentence of one year in jail and $3,000 fine.
