Former Wyoming corrections worker accused of sex with inmate
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Prosecutors have accused a former corrections center employee in Wyoming of having sex with an inmate and helping him escape.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports 20-year-old Shayne Jones appeared in Natrona County Circuit Court on Tuesday, waiving her right to a preliminary hearing.
Jones is accused of sexual assault and aiding and abetting an escape.
According to court documents, the state Department of Corrections began investigating Jones in October after receiving a tip about her possible relationship with an inmate at the Casper Re-Entry Center.
According to the documents, Jones drove two inmates to California the day after she spoke with investigators.
A woman who answered the phone at the Natrona County jail Wednesday night would not say if Jones was being held there or if booking documents list an attorney.
