NeoPhotonics: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ NeoPhotonics Corp. (NPTN) on Monday reported a loss of $7.3 million in its second quarter.
The San Jose, California-based company said it had a loss of 16 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 3 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 10 cents per share.
The maker of components for communications networks posted revenue of $81.7 million in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $83.9 million.
For the current quarter ending in October, NeoPhotonics said it expects revenue in the range of $87 million to $93 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Monday, the company’s shares hit $4.32. A year ago, they were trading at $6.63.
