LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Rory White came off the bench to score 12 points in a 3 1/2 -minute span of the fourth quarter Thursday night as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated Portland 118-113 to hand the Trail Blazers their fourth consecutive NBA loss.

The Clippers took their biggest lead, 78-60, on a reverse layin by Marques Johnson with 3:55 left in the third quarter, before Portland outscored them 13-2 during a 3:13 span to cut the deficit to 80-73 heading into the final period.

Portland went on to trim the margin to 84-82 on a fastbreak layin by Terry Porter, who finished with 14 points.

But White, who finished with 20 points, then helped the Clippers pull away, scoring nine of his 12 points on a trio of three-point plays that sparked a 21-8 run. At that point, Los Angeles led 105-90, with 5:29 remaining.

The Clippers coasted the rest of the way, as the Trail Blazers could get no closer than five points, with just nine seconds remaining.

Johnson led Los Angeles with 24 points. Norm Nixon added 18 points, as did Kurt Nimphius, who fouled out with three minutes remaining.

Clyde Drexler scored 23 points for Portland, and Kiki Vandeweghe added 20.
