San Antonio festival of the food, music of Latin America
Have a global appetite but no time to travel? Well, you’re in luck.
For the second year, Hispanic Trails Cultural Festival will bring the food, music, dance and more of 11 Latin American countries, Puerto Rico and Spain to you next month.
The event, organized by the Sociedad Cultural Hispanoamericana San Antonio Texas, will feature tents representing Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain and Venezuela. Each will include arts and crafts vendors and a selection of food items iconic to that country. A main stage will feature live music, dance and other events throughout the day.
In addition to celebrating cultural diversity, the festival will provide attendees an opportunity to receive immigration consultation; blood pressure, cholesterol and eye screenings; legal, financial and tax consultation; psychological consultation and more.
The Hispanic Trails Cultural Festival will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Wonderland of the Americas mall near the intersection of Loop 410 and Fredericksburg Road. Admission to the festival is free. More at 210-889-3928, schasa.org or Facebook: @schasa17.
