Minnesota man pleads guilty to killing wife in their home
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Authorities say a 57-year-old Minnesota man has pleaded guilty to killing his wife inside their Crystal home last year.
Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman says 57-year-old Dennis Sandland shot and killed 53-year-old Sandra Sandland in July. He pleaded guilty to second-degree unintentional murder.
Freeman says Sandland is facing more than 25 years in prison.
The criminal complaint says Sandland called two of his children on July 12 to tell them he had killed their mother. Police found Sandra Sandland dead on a bed with a gunshot wound to her head.
Police say Sandland acknowledged numerous times that he was angry with his wife and shot her. Family members told police the couple had been fighting a lot in the weeks before the murder.
