PSV, Ajax cruise to wins in Dutch league

December 6, 2014

AMSTERDAM (AP) — PSV Eindhoven stayed on top of the Eredivisie thanks to a 3-1 win at FC Dordrecht on Saturday.

Ajax, the defending champion, trounced Willem II 5-0 to remain a point behind PSV.

Dordrecht’s Mart Lieder scored the opener just six minutes in, but Georginio Wijnaldum leveled in the 21st, heading in a long cross from Jetro Willems. Luuk de Jong put the team ahead just before halftime, heading in a corner.

Wijnaldum added an insurance goal after nearly an hour, as the ball fell to him in a melee after a corner kick.

In Amsterdam, Arkadiusz Milik scored twice for Ajax. Kolbeinn Sigthorsson scored Ajax’s first but exited shortly after with an ankle injury.
