WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) _ Former boxer Muhammad Ali was involved in an accident that left a motorcyclist slightly injured after Ali's Rolls-Royce cut across traffic to make a left turn, authorities said today.

The motorcyclist, Gregory Gray, 26, complained of bruises and pain in his leg after the Tuesday night accident, said sheriff's Sgt. Guy Earl. Gray was treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and released, said spokesman Ron Wise.

The former world heavyweight champion, driving a Rolls Royce at 5 mph to 15 mph, turned left from the right lane, Earl said. Gray, overtaking Ali in the left lane, hit the rear of Ali's car, he said.

''He (Ali) just cut across the left-hand lane,'' Earl said.

Ali, 44, was not cited pending an investigation, said Deputy Dave Hogan.
