Geffen Records President Named Chairman
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Music industry veteran Eddie Rosenblatt has been named chairman of Geffen Records, replacing David Geffen who is departing to help form the new DreamWorks studio.
Rosenblatt, 60, has served as president of the record label since its founding in 1980. He has been in the business for 39 years and worked closely with such Geffen acts as Nirvana, Counting Crows and Guns N’ Roses.
Geffen will leave the label Friday to join Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg in the DreamWorks start-up.
