State Police: Illinois Man Suspected Of DUI Crashed Head-on Into Parked Police Car
TUNKHANNOCK TWP. — An Illinois man is suspected of driving under the influence when he crashed into a parked police car early Saturday morning, state police said.
A trooper parked his 2017 Ford Police Interceptor facing north on the shoulder of southbound Route 92 with his emergency lights on when Dylan S. Rust, 23, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, crashed into the police car head-on at 2:10 a.m., state police said. The crash disabled both vehicles, according to police.
The trooper was not in the vehicle at the time. Rust was wearing his seat belt and sustained minor injuries, troopers said. He refused medical treatment but “displayed multiple signs of alcohol intoxication,” so authorities took him into custody for suspicion of DUI, according to state police.
