December 24, 2018

LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts State Police have arrested three New York men and seized more than 6,000 counterfeit items they allege they were selling at a Lawrence flea market.

The Eagle-Tribune reports that 41-year-old Jinwu Wang, 39-year-old Sheng-Fu Weng, and 37-year-old Sheng-Chao Weng, were arrested Sunday and charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 1,000 counterfeit items.

State police, Lawrence police and agents from Homeland Security Investigations collaborated in executing the search warrants at the Lawrence Flea Market. Police say the items would be worth more than $1.5 million if they were authentic.

State police released a photo showing Gucci items.

The suspects were released on bail.

A hearing is scheduled for next week in Lawrence District Court. It could immediately be determined if they have lawyers.
