Six Slain in Mexico City Home
MEXICO CITY (AP) _ Authorities discovered six bodies burning in an eastern Mexico City home after receiving an anonymous phone call reporting a homicide.
Among the victims found Sunday morning were five family members, including a 90-year-old man and an 8-year-old boy, said Salvador Rodriguez, a spokesman for the attorney general.
One woman was still unidentified, Rodriguez said. The Reforma newspaper said she was the family’s nurse.
When officials arrived at the house Sunday, they saw smoke coming from some of the windows. After firefighters extinguished the blaze, they found the six bodies, four of which had been completely burned, Rodriguez said.
Some of the victims had been beaten or asphyxiated, Reforma said, and the assailants set the house on fire. Authorities were investigating the possibility of a vengeance killing, it said.
