Man missing after being on lake
STANTON — The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office was resuming a search Monday morning for a missing 55-year-old Stanton man who was last seen on a motorcycle riding on the ice at Maskenthine Lake on Sunday afternoon.
Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger said a search for the man was conducted Sunday night in the area and no trace of the man or his motorcycle were located.
An area of open water was located on the lake, which is north of Stanton and south of Highway 275, that may or may not be connected and several dive teams have been contacted to assist on Monday, Unger said.
The lake is closed to anyone besides authorities involved in the search and investigation, the sheriff said.
No further information was available Monday morning.
