December 5, 2018

SCRANTON — A Moscow physician with a practice in Scranton who was accused of overprescribing pain pills pleaded guilty today in Lackawanna County Court.

Louis Adamo, M.D., 61, 1616 Whitetail Run, entered the plea before President Judge Michael J. Barrasse to one felony count of delivery of a controlled substance by a practitioner.

The state attorney general’s office charged Adamo in October 2017 with prescribing thousands of oxycodone tablets to two patients between September 2015 and March 2016. For part of that period, one patient received 240 pills every eight to 10 days and filled prescriptions at six different pharmacies, investigators said.
