At Wyoming Seminary, the Blue Knights opened their league schedule Friday with their first win of the season, a 16-5 rout of Abington Heights in Wyoming Valley Conference girls lacrosse.

Christina Kilyanek scored six goals, and Grace Parsons scored four times. They both tallied two assists to lead the way for Sem (1-2, 1-0 WVC), which started its season with a pair of non-conference losses but began its latest WVC title defense on a positive note.

Paige Parsons added three goals. She and Kilyanek have already reached 10 goals through the first full week of the season.

Brennan Tates, who’s led Abington Heights (0-1, 0-1) in scoring the past two seasons, got her senior year started with a four-goal performance.

Scranton Prep 12, Dallas 5

At Scranton Prep, Christina Denaples and Katie Malone put away three goals apiece as the Classics opened their WVC slate with a win.

Maggie Dickson and Kerry McGrath both added two goals for Prep (2-0, 1-0 WVC), which needed overtime to top Dallas last season. The Classics didn’t let a 5-2 halftime lead slip away Friday.

Lauren Delamater scored twice, while Olivia Delevan, Christina Leu and Harley Sabol also found the net for the Mountaineers (0-2, 0-1).
