School District 25: Threat against Highland High School investigated by Pocatello police
POCATELLO — Police investigated an alleged threat of violence against Highland High School as a result of information received on Monday night, School District 25 officials said.
The threat was reported to police by an individual and following the police investigation, District 25 officials said they determined that it was safe to hold classes on Tuesday at Highland.
District 25 officials would not provide further details on the threat or on whether anyone was arrested in connection with the incident but they said there are no increased security measures at Highland High School as a result.
On Tuesday morning the district sent out an automatic alert via phone, text message and email informing Highland students and their families as well as the school’s teachers and staff about the alleged threat.
Pocatello police have not yet commented on the incident but are expected to provide additional details soon.
