BENTON, Tenn. (AP) _ A train collided with a van today, killing five members of a family, authorities said.

The accident occurred around 4 p.m. in the southeastern part of the state, about 40 miles east of Chattanooga, according to Tennessee Emergency Management Agency operations officer Ken Morris.

WRCB-TV in Chattanooga reported the victims were a recently married couple and their three children: a 7-year-old girl and boy, and a 6-year-old girl.
