VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) _ Ed Nook’s 1-yard touchdown run capped a 16-play, 89-yard fourth-quarter drive and gave unbeaten Connecticut a 14-13 victory over Villanova in the Yankee Conference Saturday.

After the Wildcats (1-4, 0-3) scored 13 unanswered points, Connecticut (5-0, 2-0) responded with the winning 6 1/2-minute drive.

Villanova made it to the Huskies’ 35 with three minutes remaining, but Tom Marchese overthrew Brian Finneran in the end zone on fourth-and-five. The Wildcats got the ball back again, but Marchese was intercepted by Brad Keatley with 0:42 to play.

Dak Newton scored Connecticut’s first TD on a 22-yard pass from Shane Stafford in the opening quarter.

Tom Venezia kicked a Villanova-record 53-yard field goal in the third.

Marchese completed 18 of 27 passes for 226 yards. Finneran caught four passes for 109 yards.
