Hornets’ Jones To Return Early
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ The Charlotte Hornets placed top scorer and NBA steals leader Eddie Jones back on the team’s active roster Wednesday, two weeks after learning Jones tore a ligament in his left elbow.
Doctors said Dec. 21 that Jones would be sidelined 3-6 weeks.
Jones was injured during a game on Dec. 20 after being fouled by the New York Knicks’ Kurt Thomas. He tore the medial collateral ligament in his left elbow and was placed on the injured list on Dec. 22. The injury did not require surgery.
The Hornets were 2-4 in Jones’ absence going into Wednesday’s game at Utah, which Jones was to miss, the team said.
Jones is the Hornets’ leading scoring at 19.4 points per game and leads the NBA in steals with a 2.83 average.
