Knicks’ Wallace, Dudley on DL
NEW YORK (AP) _ John Wallace sprained his ankle in pre-game warmups and was immediately placed on the injured list Thursday, further depleting the New York Knicks for their game against Washington.
The Knicks were already without Chris Childs, who was serving the first game of a two-game suspension, and Chris Dudley, who also went on the injured list Thursday with a sore lower back.
Wallace was playing 1-on-1 against Kurt Thomas about 40 minutes before tipoff when he injured his left ankle.
Thomas and David Wingate, who was activated earlier in the day to replace Dudley, had to help Wallace to the locker room.
Wallace, averaging 6.6 points per game, must miss the Knicks’ games against Washington, Orlando, Miami, Indiana and New Jersey before he is eligible to be activated.
