Man, 24, accused of shaking infant

April 4, 2019

A 24-year-old Huntington man was charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in serious injury after he allegedly shook a 2-month-old baby.

Braxton Micheal Gray, of the 300 block of High Street, was charged Monday in Huntington Circuit Court. In addition, he was charged with domestic battery with serious bodily injury to a person under 14.

He was being held at the Huntington County Jail, according to Chad Hacker, Huntington police chief. The incident occurred March 26 and the baby is still hospitalized, Hacker added.

The relationship between Gray and the infant is unclear, but he was described as the sole caregiver at the time the baby was injured.

Gray was being held in lieu of $60,000 bail and has a court hearing next Monday.
