Fight between two men in Norfolk lands one in jail
NORFOLK - Two men got into a fight Saturday afternoon that resulted in one getting arrested.
According to Norfolk Police Captain Mike Bauer officers were called to a residence in the 1100 block of West Prospect Avenue for the report of a physical altercation.
When officers arrived, they learned that 55-year-old Timothy Payne of Norfolk, had come to the residence and got into a verbal argument with the man living there.
The argument escalated and Payne placed the victim in a headlock and struck him in the face with his first several times before pushing him into the storm door and breaking the glass.
Payne then took the opportunity, being close to the ground, to slam the victim’s face and head into the ice covered concrete several times.
The victim sustained a significant cut just below his left eye as well as abrasions to his head and neck and went to Faith Regional Hospital for treatment.
Payne was arrested for second-degree assault and cited for disturbing the peace and criminal mischief.
