UPS Customs Brokerage presents grant to The RECing Crew
UPS Customs Brokerage of Aiken presented a UPS Foundation grant for $10,800 to The RECing Crew on Aug. 6.
Established in 2002, The RECing Crew is a nonprofit that provides leisure and recreational opportunities for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.
The activities and programs offered include bowling, baseball, basketball and soccer, talent competitions, singing and art classes.
They are designed to enhance the physical, emotional and social well-being of participants.
The RECing Crew will use the UPS Foundation grant to add martial arts and dancing activities.
UPS employees and their families and friends volunteered nearly 132 neighbor-to-neighbor hours to make the grant possible. Also mentioned in a UPS Customs Brokerage press release was the hard work of Cathy Masson-Morton and Lashunda Patterson in UPS Customs Brokerage’s effort to obtain the grant for The RECing Crew.
UPS employees have been advocates for The RECing Crew for the past 10 years. Masson-Morton serves on the board of directors and “played a key role in getting her co-workers involved” in supporting the nonprofit.
The RECing Crew’s headquarters is in North Augusta.
