Jazz’ Malone Stays Home
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) _ Utah Jazz forward Karl Malone, resting a strained lower back, didn’t practice Thursday or travel with the team to Boise, Idaho, for Friday night’s exhibition game against the Seattle Supersonics.
Malone, 36, stayed home in Salt Lake City during Wednesday night’s exhibition victory over the Vancouver Grizzlies at Ogden, Utah.
Team officials said Thursday the injury wasn’t considered serious.
Shooting guard Jeff Hornacek, who sat out the Vancouver game with a strained right quadricep, traveled to Boise and was listed as probable, as was forward Pete Chilcutt, who missed the Vancouver game with a sore lower back.
