Virtu Financial: 3Q Earnings Snapshot
NEW YORK (AP) _ Virtu Financial Inc. (VIRT) on Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $8.6 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had net income of 8 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, were 22 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 21 cents per share.
The high-speed trading company posted revenue of $295.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $177.9 million.
Virtu Financial shares have increased 35 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 85 percent in the last 12 months.
