Two men shot in drive-by while smoking marijuana in car in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Two men were hurt in a drive-by shooting Tuesday in Cleveland’s Buckeye-Woodhill neighborhood, police reports say.

The shooting happened about 11 a.m. on Shale Avenue near East 110th Street.

A 24-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were shot as they sat in a car outside a home while smoking marijuana and drinking beer, police reports say.

The men told police that a car pulled up next to them and opened fire. Bullets ripped through their car, hitting the 24-year-old man in the left thigh and the 20-year-old man in both of his legs.

Several witnesses, including the duo’s grandmother, watched as the shooting happened.

Both men were taken to University Hospitals, where the 20-year-old man had emergency surgery.

Investigators recovered several bullet casings at the scene, police reports say.
