Warrants: Raleigh man dumped dogs at park, one died

A Raleigh man put two dogs in a cardboard box and left them to die in a local park, according to an arrest warrant.

Rashawn Levon Dennison, 29, of 2913 Faversham Place, was charged with one felony count of killing an animal by starvation, one misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals and two misdemeanor counts of abandonment of animals. He was released after posting a $7,500 bond.

According to warrants, an adult female brindle pitbull mix and a pitbull mix puppy were left in a cardboard box at the rear of Green Road Park on Jan. 10. The adult dog starved to death, while the puppy survived after being “intentionally deprive[d] of necessary sustenance,” the warrants state.
