Sabres’ Ray Suspended Five Games
NEW YORK (AP) _ Buffalo forward Rob Ray was suspended for five games without pay by the NHL on Monday for hitting St. Louis’ Bryce Salvador in the face with the butt end of his stick.
Ray, who sat out a game pending a hearing, was given a minor penalty for elbowing and a match penalty for attempt to injure on the play Thursday night. He has two goals and three assists with 200 penalty minutes in 68 games this season.
Salvador sustained a concussion and is expected to miss up to two weeks.
