Meggitt Training Systems to Highlight FATS® 300 Immersive Simulator at I/ITSEC 2018

November 7, 2018

SUWANEE, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov 7, 2018--Meggitt Training Systems, the leading provider of integrated live-fire and virtual weapons training products and services for armed forces and law enforcement, will highlight the immersive, five-screen FATS ® 300 virtual system at I/ITSEC 2018. The annual modeling, simulation and training event will be held November 26-30, 2018 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

“The FATS 300 delivers on immersion for our military and law enforcement customers, including those seeking an easy upgrade from the FATS 100MIL and FATS 100LE,” said Andrea Czop, vice president of strategy, sales and marketing for Meggitt Training Systems. “Our combination of FATS simulators and realistic weapons enable the most effective marksmanship, judgmental and collective training.”

The FATS 300 is one of Meggitt’s newest offerings. Immersion is provided via five borderless 150”x84” flat screens arranged in a hexagonal format, 5.1 audio, plus sounds in any direction added by the operator for increased realism. The system also has ultra-short-throw projectors that allow the trainee unprecedented distance to the entity being engaged, all while maintaining a smaller footprint than rear-projection systems. The system utilizes the same high-fidelity ballistic engine validated by the U.S. Army and other military customers.

The FATS 300 interfaces with a variety of firearms, including Meggitt’s wireless BlueFire ® weapons. A variety of these weapons will be demonstrated at I/ITSEC. The company will also highlight its ability to modify live weapons for simulator use, as well as crew-served weapons and wireless light machine guns.

In recent months, Meggitt has created three domestic regional hubs featuring the FATS 300LE for law enforcement applications. The hubs, located in Florida, Georgia and California, have generated significant interest from police departments there and elsewhere.
