HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP Immaculate edges New Fairfield in field hockey

October 5, 2018

Madison Halas scored the go-ahead goal with 20 minutes remaining as the Immaculate High School field hockey team defeated New Fairfield 2-1 on Thursday in a clash of South-West Conference contenders. Celia Preveza also scored for the unbeaten Mustangs, and Eileen Rattigan scored for New Fairfield. Immaculate is scheduled to resume its game from Wednesday against Weston, which was halted late in the first half because of a thunderstorm, on Monday at 11 a.m. Immaculate was leading that game 1-0 when it was suspended, as Halas had scored on a penalty stroke.
