Foyt Enters Cars for Gordon, Salazar
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A.J. Foyt has entered cars for Robby Gordon and Eliseo Salazar in next month’s Indianapolis 500.
Foyt won the Indy 500 four times as a driver and another as an owner.
Gordon finished fourth in the 1999 edition and sixth last year, driving for Team Menard. Salazar was third in the inaugural Infiniti Grand Prix on Sunday in Homestead, Fla.
Also, veteran driver John Paul Jr. will return to Indianapolis after a one-year absence. Paul is listed as the driver for a car entered by Zali Racing.
Cars also were entered by Blueprint Racing, Della Penna Motorsports and Nienhouse Motorsports.
The deadline was Wednesday, but late-arriving entries postmarked by then will be accepted over the next few days.
The track will open May 6 for full practice. Qualifying for the 33 starting spots is May 12-13 and May 20, and the race is May 27.
