Mosaic earns Workplace Excellence Award

August 22, 2018

Mosaic in Beatrice was recently recognized with a national Workplace Excellence Award at a banquet held during Mosaic’s annual national leadership event in Omaha.

The award is given by the Mosaic national supports office and recognizes Mosaic agencies that are committed to developing staff and fostering a great work environment.

The local Mosaic agency stood out among the organization’s 36 locations for several reasons.

The average employee tenure in Beatrice is more than nine years – and includes an employee who has worked on the campus for more than 50 years.

Two years in a row, Mosaic in Beatrice has been nationally recognized for teamwork. This commitment speaks to connectedness to each other and the mission of Mosaic.

“We had no idea that Beatrice was going to win this award,” said Amy Bell, the local executive director for Mosaic. “There are many good, mission-driven agencies across our organization, so to stand out among them is truly an honor for us.”

Award winners are selected by Mosaic’s national leadership. They noted anonymous feedback received during the annual culture survey from two Beatrice employees.

“The managers are very caring – both for the clients that we serve and for the staff that works for them,” said one employee. “It makes me feel appreciated and comforts me in knowing that my clients have someone there to fight for them and help them achieve a healthier, happier quality of life.”

Another wrote, “Mosaic is my second home and my second family. Since day one, my managers have been understanding of my chaotic life and have worked with me. We all support the same goals and celebrate each other’s triumphs. The agency allows me to build my confidence in myself, my coworkers, and management. It demonstrates the trust we all have in each other.”

Bell said Mosaic in Beatrice is currently hiring.

“Anyone who wants to help people with disabilities enjoy a full life and be a part of our tight-knit, award-winning team should give us a call,” she said
