Waupun Police Beat 9-14 to 9-16, 2018

Warrant — Friday at 9:47 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 400 block of West Main Street for a report of a man who was believed to have a warrant. Police arrested a 27-year-old Waupun man for a Fond du Lac County failure to appear warrant. The man was transported to Fond du Lac County Jail.

Car fire — Friday at 9:55 a.m., police and fire responded to a business in the 900 block of East Main Street for a car fire. The fire was knocked down and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Welfare check — Saturday at 12:53 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Rock Avenue for a report of a suicidal subject. Police placed a 21-year-old Waupun man into protective custody. The man was later transported to a mental health facility.

Welfare check — Saturday at 2:50 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 500 block of Grace Street for a report of a suicidal subject. Police placed a 37-year-old Waupun woman into protective custody. The woman was later transported to a mental health facility.

Warrant — Saturday at 8:20 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 900 block of East Main Street for a warrant pickup. Police arrested a 36-year-old Waupun woman on a probation and parole warrant. The woman was transported to Dodge County Jail.

Traffic stop — Sunday at 12:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Beaver Dam Street at McKinley Street. Charges of possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and bail jumping are being referred to the Dodge County DA’s Office against an 18-year-old Waupun man.

Domestic disturbance — Sunday at 8:29 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Edgewood Drive. A 34-year-old Waupun woman was taken into custody and was transported to Fond du Lac County Jail. She was held on a disorderly conduct charge.

Theft — Sunday at 10:35 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 700 block of West Lincoln Street for a theft of three-year-old shoes. The complainant advised a 24-year-old Waupun man was at his residence the evening prior and mentioned he liked the complainant’s shoes. The complainant saw the man at a bar over the weekend and confronted the 24-year-old man as he was wearing the shoes. Police later made contact with the suspect and he confessed to stealing the shoes. The man was cited for theft.

Welfare check — Monday at 10:15 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 900 block of West Jefferson Street for a report of an out-of-control and violent juvenile. The juvenile was placed into protective custody and was later transported to a mental health facility.
