WESTFORD -- Angela Crosby of Littleton and Crystal Woodward of Ayer, both seniors in the Cosmetology program, have been selected as October’s Students of the Month at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
Ashley Crosby, daughter of Dave and Theresa Crosby, is a freshman mentor and captain and outside hitter for the volleyball team. Through Cosmetology, she frequently visits local nursing homes and assisted-living facilities to do the hair and nails of elderly residents. She also works at a salon in Acton. She plans to attend Framingham State College to pursue a degree in Business and then continue in the cosmetology field.
Ashley was nominated by Guidance Counselor Jessica Lamond, who wrote: “Ashley is an excellent student and a positive addition to the Nashoba Tech community. She is a senior class officer who goes above and beyond. Recently, she had a big part in organizing the Homecoming Dance and made sure that all of her classmates were having a good time. She puts others before herself and is very kind. Ashley is a true role model for the younger students who look up to her.”
Cosmetology Instructor Sheriley Farrand added that Ashley is an “amazing girl, kind, considerate, helpful and overall a good Nashoba Tech citizen.”
Crystal Woodward, daughter of Tom and Sue Woodward, frequently visits local nursing homes and assisted-living facilities through the Cosmetology program to do the hair and nails of elderly residents. She is interested in either attending art school in Manhattan or continuing her cosmetology career upon graduation.
Crystal was nominated by Cosmetology Instructor Donna McMahon, who wrote: “Crystal is an amazing worker in the Cosmetology technical area. She is very creative, a problem-solver and always ready to learn new things. Crystal shows great work ethic both inside and outside the classroom, and I look forward to watching what is in store for her as she continues to learn and grow.”
