Anaheim has lost 13 of its last 14 games against the Oilers and hasn’t won in Edmonton since 1999. The Ducks trail 2-0 in the Western Conference final, which resumes in Edmonton on Tuesday night.

HIRED

The Los Angeles Kings hired Marc Crawford as their new coach Monday. Crawford replaces John Torchetti, who coached the final 12 games after Andy Murray was fired. Crawford, who coached in Colorado and Vancouver, guided the Avalanche to the 1996 Stanley Cup championship. The Kings finished 42-35-5 to miss the playoffs for a third consecutive season.

RICHARDS RE-SIGNED

Tampa Bay re-signed leading scorer Brad Richards on Monday. Richards, the 2004 Stanley Cup playoffs MVP, signed a five-year, $39 million contract instead of opting to become a restricted free agent on July 1. He is the Lightning’s career assists leader with 261, the third highest total in the NHL over the past five seasons behind Joe Thornton and Jagomir Jagr.
