Francis “John” Turicek, 77, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at his home.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown. Family and friends may gather from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Innichement will follow at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com. Francis “John” Turicek was born on March 23, 1941, to Joseph and Anna (nee Vojtik) Turicek in Phillips. John served as a member of the United States National Guard. He was employed as a roofer for Langer Roofing Co. for 33 years until his retirement. John enjoyed spending his free time ice fishing and vegetable gardening.

John is survived by his children, Cindy (Ricardo) Spredeman of St. Francis, Jeff (Emma) Turicek of New York, Theresa (Christopher) Brown of Milwaukee; stepchildren, Donald (Diana) Shandley, Joyce Shandley, Katie Warweg, Carey Shandley; grandchildren, Michelle Spredeman, Nicholas Olivo, Dylan Turicek; 11 step-grandchildren; siblings, Tony (Dottie) Turicek, Marge Pentony, Joan “Pep”(Pete) Stachowiak, and Helen Pass; as well as other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Sue Shandley; seven siblings and stepson, Mitch Shandley.
