Dycora and Rainbow team up for presentation

August 1, 2018

JEFFERSON -- At 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 15, Dycora Transitional Health & Living and Rainbow Hospice Care will be co-hosting a program for the community on the importance of advance care planning at Dycora’s facility located at 121 Hospital Drive in Watertown.

The centerpiece of the program is a 90 minute presentation titled “Honoring Choices Wisconsin: The Most Important Conversation You’ll Ever Have” by Michael Bernhagen. Bernhagen, Rainbow Hospice Care’s director of community engagement and care partner relations, gained notoriety a few years back for co-producing Consider the Conversation, the Emmy-nominated PBS film series that intimately explores the American struggle with communication and preparation for end-of-life.

During his talk, Bernhagen will:

-- Tell the moving story of lessons learned from the deaths of his mother and father-in-law.

-- Screen and analyze several clips from the film series.

-- Share how members of the community can prevent unnecessary suffering by engaging in facilitated advance care planning discussions with local health care professionals.

This event is free and open to the public. To register, contact Dawn Thiede, Dycora’s customer transitional coordinator, at dawn.thiede@dycora.com or 414-562-7165.
