North Dakota governor declares statewide flood emergency
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum has declared a statewide flood emergency.
Dozens of homes have been evacuated due to Yellowstone River flooding in western North Dakota and eastern Montana. Burgum made his declaration after touring the area Wednesday.
Ice jam flooding also has been an issue on several rivers in the southwest and south central portions of the state, and high water threatens in the southern James River Basin. Flooding also is expected in the Red River and Devils Lake basins.
