CHYNA CORNWELL, Newton-Conover, 6-3, C, Jr. _ Averaged 28.3 points, 20.5 rebounds and 3.1 blocks while sitting out fourth quarter of most games. Had double-doubles in all 30 games. Had 14 games with at least 30 points and two with 40 or more, with a high of 44. Had 16 games with at least 20 rebounds and four with 30 or more. Led team 25-5 record, sweep of conference regular-season and tournament titles and third-round appearance in NCHSAA 2A playoffs. CALLIE SCHEIER, West Forsyth, 5-1, PG, Sr. _ Averaged 28.5 points, 3.2 assists, 2.9 rebounds, 2.7 steals. Scored more than 1,700 career points and had more than 500 career assists. Led school to first NCHSAA 4-A championship, beating Southeast Raleigh in the final, and was MVP of the title game. League player of year. Four-time all-conference selection and first-team all-district pick. Committed to High Point.

ALEX SCRUGGS, Fayetteville E.E. Smith, 5-11, G, Sr. _ Averaged 26 points, 12.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 3.3 steals. Her 27 double-doubles ranked third in the state. All-NCBCA pick. District and conference player of year. Conference tournament MVP. McDonald’s All-American Game nominee. Led school to NCHSAA 3-A Eastern Regionals. Signed with Wake Forest.

KENNEDI SIMMONS, Southeast Guilford, 5-7, G, Jr. _ Averaged 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals while shooting 50 percent for a team that went 28-3 and beat Waxhaw Cuthbertson for its first NCHSAA 3-A championship. MVP of state title game after scoring 27 points. Career 1,000-point scorer. Three-time all-conference selection. Area player of year. All-district pick.
