Cleveland Heights police fire shots at suspect in chase with state troopers

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland Heights police fired shots at a suspect who led state troopers on a car chase, according to Cleveland police.

The incident happened about 11:30 a.m. Friday on East 185th Street and Schenley Avenue in the city’s Collinwood neighborhood, Cleveland police said.

The Cleveland Heights officers fired shots at the suspect following the car chase, according to police.

It is unknown if anyone was injured by the gunfire and the man was arrested, Cleveland police said.

A SWAT team, along with dozens of officers and Cleveland police homicide detectives are at the scene. 

Cleveland police officers led a shirtless man in handcuffs to the back of an ambulance. The man had a bandage on his chin and the ambulance took him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
