Accused gunman now charged with murder in Thanksgiving killings

November 27, 2018

Murder charges were filed today against a Fort Wayne man accused of gunning down three people and shooting two others on Thanksgiving in a home on Downingtown Drive.

Kameron J. Joyner, 22, is charged with three counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. He also was charged in Allen Superior Court with felony criminal recklessness.

Court documents say Joyner and Gerald Pinkston, 22, might have gone to 6116 Downingtown Drive to commit a robbery. Witnesses told police Joyner shot and killed Joevonn M. Johnson, 23, Colton D. Messmer, 20 and Tracey A. Adams, 21.

Teryle King was shot in the back, and Kyle Wagner was shot in the face and taken by helicopter to a hospital in Indianapolis.

Witnesses told police Pinkston was with Joyner at the time of the killings, but he has not been arrested.

Joyner is being held at the Allen County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.
