Longacre now leading Evans in city council race

NEEDLES — Zachery Longacre has taken the lead for a third seat in the tightly contested race for Needles City Council with 479 votes. Incumbent Louise Evans has fallen two votes behind at 477.

The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters updated results in the local race at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26.

Mayor Ed Paget is now credited with 683 votes; Timothy Terral with 496. Barbara Beard, in her first race for a council seat, garnered 430.

Three seats are up for election in this cycle as Vice Mayor Jeff Williams, running unopposed for mayor, will vacate the one he now holds. Williams now has 742 votes for mayor.
