Six Flags: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (AP) _ Six Flags Entertainment Corp. (SIX) on Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $79.5 million.
On a per-share basis, the Grand Prairie, Texas-based company said it had profit of 94 cents. Earnings, adjusted to extinguish debt, came to $1 per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 98 cents per share.
The amusement park operator posted revenue of $477.2 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Ten analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $467.6 million.
Six Flags shares have dropped slightly more than 4% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 21% in the last 12 months.
