ATLANTA (AP) _ Allen Iverson scored 27 points and Tyrone Hill added 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Atlanta Hawks 104-92 Friday night.

It was the third victory in a row and the fifth in six games for the Sixers, who handed Atlanta its season-high eighth straight loss while sweeping the four-game season series.

Matt Geiger came off the bench to add 18 points and Theo Ratliff had 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Sixers, who never trailed after Geiger hit a turn-around 10-footer for a 31-29 lead with 8:57 left in the second quarter.

Jason Terry led the Hawks with 20 points and Dikembe Mutombo added 16 points with 12 rebounds.

Iverson scored 18 in the first half when Philadelphia built a 53-45 lead, and the Sixers then took control in the third quarter as Hill and Ratliff each scored six in a 15-4 run that created the biggest lead of the night, 72-51 on a dunk by Hill with 4:42 left in the third.

Toni Kukoc added 12 points and seven assists for the 76ers, while Dion Glover had 12 and Jimmy Jackson 11 for the Hawks. Terry scored 14 in the final 14 minutes.

Notes: Iverson was the leading scorer in each of the Sixers’ four victories over the Hawks this season, getting 31, 25 and 30 in the three previous wins. ... It was the first time since the 1990-91 season that Philadelphia swept the season series from the Hawks. ... Atlanta’s 26-53 record is its worst since the team moved to Atlanta from St. Louis in 1968. ... Mutombo’s 41 minutes of action pushed him over the 25,000 mark in minutes played for his career, going to 25,025.
