Company founded by Mr. Italy says anti-Trump sign is gone
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. (AP) — A New Jersey tour company famous for its commercials featuring “Mr. Italy” Mario Perillo says it has removed a giant anti-President Donald Trump message from its headquarters’ rooftop a day after it was reported to exist.
Owner Steve Perillo said Wednesday that the sign reading “Dump Trump” alongside a link to Perillo’s website was put up during the 2016 primary and taken down shortly after the election. Diana Ferro, executive vice president of Perillo Tours, says the sign was a “quick decision” on the part of current owner Steve Perillo to demonstrate his opinion.
Ferro says Perillo supports the president, and notes that business for the company has increased since Trump took office.
The sign was reported to exist on Tuesday and is visible via satellite image on Google Maps.
