Red Herring Appoints New CEO
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Red Herring Communications, the magazine and Web site company covering technology and business news, announced Friday that Hilary Schneider has been appointed its new CEO.
Schneider succeeds company co-founder Christopher Alden, who had served as interim CEO. The announcement was made by Anthony Perkins, chairman of the board of directors and co-founder of Red Herring Communications.
Schneider, 39, comes to Red Herring from Times Mirror Interactive, where she served as president and CEO of Times Mirror’s interactive media division.
Schneider, a Harvard MBA, has a background in media investment banking, publishing and Internet operations management.
In addition to Schneider’s appointment, Red Herring announced the monthly magazine will begin biweekly circulation Oct. 17.
